 Winnemac Park is more than just a relaxing local park with acres of natural prairie areas – it is a place where nature, community, and recreation come together to create something bigger. Thousands of individuals regularly find themselves upon our lawns and pathways. A 2020 survey of neighbors found that 38% of them were in the park 1-5 times per week, and 19% were there every day.


The Winnemac Park Advisory Council is planning our Third Annual Winnemac Fourth For All (WFFA), our signature event of the year. This free July 4 celebration has drawn more than 2500 people its first two years to celebrate the holiday. Community members and visitors gather for a day of picnicking; family daytime fun including disc golf; children’s activities; food trucks; and a finale featuring an evening performance of fire acrobatics from Full Moon Jam. WFFA is the Council’s signature event, and has become a huge success, with significant favorable press coverage from Chicago Tribune, Block Club, and CBS News.
