What do a crawfish, a cowboy mouse, and a 100-year-old woman have in common? They are all characters in Fiesta Mexicana, Sones de Mexico Ensemble’s interactive family concert!

This lively performance, perfect for all ages, takes audiences on a fun adventure with good music and stories. From the lush, tropical Huasteca region with a tale about “La Acamaya” to the festive finale with a folk version of “La Bamba” from Veracruz, enjoy a musical journey that celebrates Mexico’s diverse heritage. Bring the whole family and get ready to sing, clap, and dance along!

Miss Ruby makes an appearance in the park for a 30-minute story time full of books, songs, and fingerplays inspired by nature!

You can expect to hear stories about plants and animals alongside learning how we can take care of our planet together. Miss Ruby is a teaching artist and children's musician who has taught young artists at Chicago Children's Theatre, Edgewater Public Library, Women & Children First, and more.

Join us for Night Out in The Parks as we welcome Wender Collective to our lawns for their captivating show, Remnants!

About the Show:

Giant spirits walk the paths of restored native ecosystems in Chicago's parklands, inviting us to reawaken the wild within.  REMNANTS weaves together ecology, history, futurity and collective awe in a site-specific movement performance.   

Free to the public.

 🧘🏽‍♀️ Looking for a new way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Winnemac? Join us in the upcoming months for free adult yoga classes in the park, courtesy of @bloomyogastudio! Samantha returns with a delightful Saturday morning series that runs from April through November. Please note these classes will be for individuals 18 and over.

Get moving on the Lakefront Trail and join us for a community celebration of our parks! In partnership with Banner Wholesale Grocers, the Chicago Parks Foundation is thrilled to bring our 5K event back for our fourth year at beautiful Burnham Park.

Start the morning with either the timed out-and-back 5K course on the path or a guided 1-Mile Burnham Wildlife Corridor Nature Walk. Children 10 and under can be part of the Kids Dash. Then enjoy our post-race pancake party with food, drinks, and community fun - all right in the park!

All event registrations include a commemorative shirt and post-race party food/beverage ticket. Family-friendly. All ages and abilities welcome
