Park Run 101 had a few cancellations early last week from folks who had missed the opening run. Registration has been REOPENED to fill those spots.
About the Program: Led by a Certified Running Coach, Park Run 101 combines personalized coaching with the encouragement and accountability of a community training group. Participants will receive a customized training plan, bi-weekly coaching check-ins, weekly group runs, and educational workshops covering topics such as injury prevention, nutrition, recovery, race day preparation and more.
Over the course of the program, participants will work toward feeling strong and race-day ready for the Chicago Parks Foundation’s Run for the Parks 5K on September 13th. Participation in the 5K is encouraged but not required.
Space has been limited to just 20 participants to ensure individualized attention and a high quality experience. All that is required is a willingness to get moving, enjoy Chicago’s parks, and take the first step toward your running goals!

Miss Ruby makes an appearance in the park for a 30-minute story time full of books, songs, and fingerplays inspired by nature!
You can expect to hear stories about plants and animals alongside learning how we can take care of our planet together. Miss Ruby is a teaching artist and children's musician who has taught young artists at Chicago Children's Theatre, Edgewater Public Library, Women & Children First, and more.
We may be biased, but we think our park will act as the perfect backdrop for Miss Ruby to share her stories and we look very forward to welcoming her to Winnemac next week! .

During Q1 of 2025 board elections have occurred and a new leadership team has formed.
