The Winnemac Park Advisory Council (WPAC) has been notified that the Chicago Public Schools, which owns Jorndt Stadium in Winnemac Park, has entered into an agreement with the Edgewater Castle Football Club to use the stadium to host 12-15 games on weekends between May and July 2026.

Established as a 501(c)(3) and operating for public benefit, improved conditions, and promotion of nature spaces and recreational activities, the Winnemac Park Advisory Council was reactivated in the spring of 2023. A new board has been elected, and by-laws have been established.
During Q1 of 2025 board elections have occurred and a new leadership team has formed.

We are volunteers dedicated to building community and making Winnemac Park a wonderful place to be.
WPAC has identified the following priorities
• The pressing need for easily-accessible bathroom facilities for all park patrons in order to maintain adequate levels of sanitation throughout the park
• A desire to maintain and protect the park
